Hi my name is Beau. I"m the happiest Boxer Boy you could ever meet. I was born Deaf but that doesn't bother me at all. My mom taught me American Sign Language (ASL) & I can communicate with the entire family. Since she helps me with my disability I decided I would return the favor. See my mommy is disabled too & I alert her when she needs to take her medication. We are each others best friend. Mom says I'm the best alert dog EVER. Maybe because my sense of smell is so much better due to my hearing loss or maybe because I 'm such a smart boy. I obtained my Canine Good Citizen certificate (CGC) through AKC & became a Delta Society Pet Partner right after my 1st birthday. I have been visiting nursing homes & children with special needs for over a year now. I just love it! I'm also registered with Intermountain Therapy Dogs as a Reading Education Assistance Dog (R.E.A.D) as seen on Animal Planet. I sit & watch children who have trouble reading, I paw the page & keep them calm & focused. I'm Deaf so can't hear if they mess up & I help give them confidence to read in the class room. I went to Jacksonville, Florida this year '06 & passed my Public Access Test (PAT) with Florida Service Dogs so now I'm an official Certified Service Animal. I go everywhere with my mommy & help her get through the day. I wake up every morning happy to meet the world & thank everyone every day for giving the chance to reach my potential.
