About ArchAngel Boxers
Hi my name is Amber Norton. I'm the owner, trainer, handler, & groomer here at ArchAngel Boxers. My devotion with this breed started with a little Boxer pup before we knew about Backyard Breeders (BYB) & where NOT to buy a puppy. His name was Put up Your Dukes "Duke" a sweet reverse brindle male. He's responsible for my love of the Brindle Boxer. My husband purchased him as a Birthday Present for me at a flea market for a mere $250.00. After $1000.00 in vet bills & many sick days Duke crossed the bridge at only 6 months. Feeling depressed I went to look at a litter of Boxer puppies locally and found cute little Beau all alone in the corner of an outside dog house. How could you not love that face? He instantly won me over with the "Oh poor baby". I am often told my heart is bigger than my brain. This was such an occasion. I scooped him up and paid the 350.00 to bring him home. Not a week later I found out he was deaf. I contacted the breeder asking if she would get the vibrating collar he needed for training and was told since I paid such a good price for him I would have to buy it myself. I swore this time I learned and this would never happen to me again, but I was wrong. Thinking I was doing the right thing I fell yet again for another poorly bred boxer. I thought if paid a high price, waited two years and flew across the country in a middle of a hurricane this must finally be my perfect boxer. Being a newbie his conformation looked wonderful to me yet after a few evaluations and matches I could clearly see where I was mistaken. The health fell second when he was diagnosed with bilateral moderate hipdisplasia at under two years of age. He showed no signs. Being so young he will outlive the hip replacement and must be medically managed until it is no longer effective. My baby will ive in pain the rest of his life because his breeder bred for the wrong reasons and didn't perform th necessary health testing. This is not only devestating but something no one should have to ever go through, espically the dog. If you look at pedigrees Cayos is somehow related to almost all the "Seal" or "Black Brindle" boxers out there. Please do your homework and ask the right questions before you purchase your next family member. Learn from my mistakes so it doesn't happen to you. I promised the boys I would do everything I could to help others like them and the people who unknowingly purchased a boxer from a mill or BYB. I 'm a very dedicated Rescuer & Breeder who puts every available second & spare dollar into my Babies. They can be seen in the show ring, in schools, nursing homes, & hospitals, at libraries with the R.E.A.D. program & in area businesses working as Service Animals for their Disabled Handlers. I strive for perfection in ALL my Boxers & hope to provide the next generation of working dog with the temperament, health, intelligence, & drive to make them Champions in all they do.
